Privacy Policy

The Totally Ad Free apps collect no personal data. They have no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts. Only TAF Weather goes online: it asks our own server for the forecast, with your location rounded to about a kilometer, and our server keeps no record of who asked.

This policy covers the Totally Ad Free (TAF) apps: TAF Sudoku, TAF Nonogram, TAF Reboot, TAF Tidy and TAF Weather, on iOS and Android, and this website.

Who we are

The apps are published by Kallela Oy (Business ID 0457857-1), Finland, under the trade name Totally Ad Free. Kallela Oy is the controller for any personal data described in this policy. Contact: support@totallyadfree.com.

What the apps collect

Nothing. The apps don't collect, store on a server, share or sell any data about you. In particular:

  • No advertising, and no advertising or device identifiers.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or other third-party SDKs that collect data.
  • No accounts, sign-in or in-app purchases.

What stays on your device

The apps save your settings (such as theme, sounds and language), game progress, statistics, reminder schedules, saved places and the last forecast on your device only. We can't see this data. It is deleted when you delete the app. Your device's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include it, under Apple's or Google's terms.

Permissions

Notifications (TAF Reboot, TAF Tidy)

Used only to show the reminders you schedule. The reminders are created on your device.

Background activity (TAF Reboot)

TAF Reboot checks from time to time, on the device, whether your phone has restarted, so it doesn't remind you when you have already rebooted. The check sends nothing anywhere.

Photos and videos (TAF Tidy)

TAF Tidy reads your photo library to find old screenshots and other clutter, and deletes only the items you confirm in your phone's own delete dialog. Your photos are processed on your device and never uploaded or shared. You can change or revoke access at any time in your phone's settings.

Location (TAF Weather)

Used only if you allow it, and only to get the forecast where you are. The app rounds your location to about a kilometer before sending it (see below), and it is never stored on our server. You can use TAF Weather without it, with places you add yourself. Places are searched from a list built into the app, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.

TAF Weather and the internet

TAF Weather is the only TAF app that goes online. To show the forecast, it asks our own server (api.totallyadfree.com) for the weather at a place: your current location, if you allow it, or a place you have saved. The request contains only the place, rounded to about a kilometer, and nothing else about you or your device. Our server:

  • gets the forecast from our weather data provider, WeatherAPI.com, sending only the rounded place. WeatherAPI.com never sees your IP address or anything else about you;
  • keeps each forecast in memory for 15 minutes, so people near the same place share one request;
  • keeps no logs of requests, places or IP addresses. Like any server, it sees your IP address while answering; it only counts requests per address in memory for 10 minutes to stop abuse, and keeps nothing after that.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the forecast you asked for and protecting the service from abuse.

App stores

You buy and download the apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process your purchase and may collect data under their own privacy policies; we don't control that. They give us only aggregated sales and download reports, which don't identify you. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, Apple or Google may also give us anonymous crash reports.

If you contact us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. We keep the conversation only as long as needed to help you, and as required by law. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your message.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party content; fonts are served from this site. The web server may log technical data such as IP addresses for security and operation. These logs are kept only for a short time and not used to identify visitors.

Children

The apps are suitable for all ages. Since they collect no data, they collect no data from children either.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Since the apps collect no data, we usually hold none about you; if you have emailed us, contact support@totallyadfree.com. You can also complain to the Finnish data protection authority, the Data Protection Ombudsman.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date above. If an app ever starts to collect data, we will say so here and in the store listing before that version is released.
